Located in the heart of the Douro Wine Region, Quinta da Avessada already has 160 years of existence. It is located at the highest point in the Favaios region. It is a farm full of history, which still maintains the traditions of its ancestors.
Most of its vineyards are cultivated with the Moscatel Galego variety, the variety that gives rise to the well-known Moscatel de Favaios.
At Quinta da Avessada we also find an Enoteca, a centuries-old warehouse of traditional Douro construction. In this warehouse you can learn more about the history of the farm, its traditions and customs. Here, several tastings of Douro wines take place and you can also observe and learn more about the winemaking process.
The farm is surrounded by vineyards that produce the best nectars in the Douro.

Vindimas Quinta da Avessada
This is the right program for anyone who wants to experience the true spirit of the Douro. Harvesting is one of the oldest and most typical traditions of the region. There is nothing better than experiencing and being part of this custom, in order to understand how the best wines in the world are produced.
In this program you will be received with a Moscatel de Honra while enjoying the sound of the concertina. Then, the grapes are cut and transported to the mill. At this point you will certainly be humming along with the Douro Traditional Songs.
To make up for your effort, you will be entitled to a Wine Tasting accompanied by some appetizers. Save room for the traditional lunch that follows. Enjoy the ancient customs and traditions of the art of fine cooking, while listening to stories and songs from the land.
