11:30 a.m. (lunch)/5:30 p.m. (dinner) – Reception at Quinta da Avessada - Favaios

  • We start the day with a visit to the Enoteca Gardens, accompanied by Moscatel de Honra to the sound of concertinas

Guided tour of the Enoteca, where you will learn about the traditional process of making Moscatel and Port wine

Traditional Douro lunch (1:00 p.m.) or dinner (7:00 p.m.) at Quinta da Avessada

  • Meal cooked in iron pots in the traditional way, following the old customs and traditions of the art of good cooking, always accompanied by stories

Starters:

  • Codfish fritters
  • Assorted sausages
  • Favaios wheat (specialty)

Main course:

  • Farmer's soup with beans and vegetables

Main dish:

  • Veal stewed in red wine, accompanied by roasted potatoes and cooked cabbage

Dessert:

  • Regional sweets and seasonal fruit
  • Coffee and brandy as a digestif

Drinks are included (water, red or white DOC wine)

Enjoy a lunch full of history at Quinta da Avessada, located on the Favaios wine plateau in the heart of the Douro Demarcated Region. 

Start this experience with a visit to the estate's gardens, accompanied by a delicious moscatel. 

This will be followed by a visit to the Estate with a full explanation of the traditional process of producing Moscatel Wine and Port Wine. 


After this reception, you can enjoy a traditional Douro lunch or dinner at the Estate, cooked in iron pots, following the customs and traditions of the art of good cooking.
